About Us

Sages Elixirs is a small women-owned business in Brooklyn, New York that started in 2023 as a passion for reminding people to take a moment to connect to the natural world. We create all-natural products designed to complement your everyday rituals. 

Our Story

After years of spending money on products that irritated her sensitive skin, our founder decided to take matters into her own hands. She began researching ingredients and found that (among many other problematic ingredients) synthetic fragrances were a major culprit for her inflamed skin. While fragrance-free cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreens, and clean make-up took over her skincare arsenal, she continued researching and discovered the world of essential oils. She began experimenting, diluting these powerful oils with more gentle carrier oils such as those derived from jojoba, argan, and coconut, to create blends that were gentle enough for her sensitive skin and carried the essence of healing botanicals. 

Her research and experimentation with essential oils led her to the realization that these powerful botanicals not only solved her problem of skin irritation, but some of her formulas actually improved her skin. She started bottling up her newly found elixirs for friends, and they too were surprised to find that her formulas not only had beautiful aromas, but also helped to smooth fine lines and bring relief to very dry skin. The product that started it all is what Sages Elixirs now calls the Multi Serum. Her friends started using this in place of perfume, as a wrinkle reducer, and one of her friends even found it brought temporary relief to her eczema. We are excited to share her potions with the rest of the world.

Our Philosophy

Everyday we are inundated with advertisements and media trying to convince us that we need to follow the next new trend in order to look younger and find happiness. At Sages Elixirs, we believe that you already have the power to feel energetic and more content through mindful rituals that connect you with nature (which includes yourself!). Our products aim to help you enhance those daily rituals and strengthen that connection, which is why our elixirs are made with all natural ingredients that were selected to bring you back to the moment, wherever you find yourself.

Our Products 

Sages Elixirs now offers a line of seven products that are meant to complement your everyday rituals. Each elixir is produced in small batches in Brooklyn, New York and each bottle is individually hand dipped in wax to remind you that we made it just for you. Our ingredients are ethically sourced and organic whenever possible. We try to keep our costs as low as we can in order to reach as many people as possible, but we will never compromise on the quality and sustainability of our ingredients, and we are always looking for new ways to do better. 

You may already know what works best for your skin and for your senses, so we encourage you to use our products in addition to what already works for you. We are not here to push out your favorite products, we are just here to bring you a little piece of nature bottled up just for you, to remind you that you are one of a kind!

Our small-batch botanical blends are categorized by bottle color depending on how they can fit best into your everyday rituals.

• Blue Bottles contain blends to compliment your daily skincare routines. 
• Amber Bottles hold elixirs that are great to keep around the home for specific uses. 
• Green Bottles are reserved for our All Purpose Sprays, containing aromatic blends that can be used for just about anything!

Our products aim to improve your body and environment through the natural powers of essential oils and other botanicals. We will always look to source sustainable and high quality ingredients and packaging and will never bottle up synthetic ingredients, unnatural fragrances, or artificial preservatives that are found in so many products out there.

Our Ingredients

We carefully source the ingredients for our products and use organic ingredients in our skincare elixirs whenever possible. Not all essential oils and botanicals are created equally, so we do the research to bring you the purest botanical extractions, developed through sustainable practices and respect for our natural world. About Our Essential Oils*

• Clary Sage Essential Oil - The oil is found in many of our products, and even the name of our company! The scent of clary sage is unlike any other, known for its ability to bring you back to the present moment, out of a wave of depression or anxiety. Its calming effect was a natural choice for our Sleepy Spray and we had to put it in the first release of our All Purpose Spray alongside geranium and ho wood. 
• Geranium Essential Oil - Our Blue Bottles collection is essential a love letter to geranium essential oil! We love this oil for its gentle and soothing aroma, but most of all for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and restorative properties. This oil is believed to improve the skin's appearance and allow for perspiration to flow naturally, which is why it is at the foundation of our skincare products.
• Ho Wood Essential Oil - Ho wood essential oil is extracted from the bark, leaves, and twigs of evergreen trees native to China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Japan. This essential oil came onto our radar as a more gentle substitute to bergamot (an oil we love, but it highly phototoxic). This essential oil is thought to be helpful for all kind of therapeutic uses, such as anxiety, infections, and stress, so it was a natural choice for the first release of our All Purpose Spray. 
• Jasmine Essential Oil - Jasmine essential oil just, smells. so. good. We love a white flower moment, and she is perfect alongside geranium in our powerful Multi Serum. It takes A LOT of petals to make jasmine essential oil, so if you find this oil as an absolute, it is extremely potent (and expensive). We prefer to use dilutions with jojoba oil. Jasmine essential oil has been praised for its soothing effect on the skin, which some have found effective in combating skin aging, but it is most sought after for its fragrance.
• Lavender Essential Oil - This essential oil is known for its calming effect, which is why it's so popular in the world of aromatherapy. It has been found to help relieve stress and tension, making it a natural choice to pair with clary sage in our Sleepy Spray, which we formulated to be gentle for humans and pets alike! We also use lavender essential oil in our more potent Outdoor Oil, as it has also been found to help repel insects and soothe the itch of insect bites. 
• Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil - You may find this essential oil labelled as lemon eucalyptus or eucalyptus lemon - however you want to order the words we love the refreshingly clean, herbal-meets-citrus scent of this oil! It's known to have antibacterial and anti fungal properties, and helps to deter insects. Naturally, we had to feature it prominently in our Stank Spray, which was designed to mask the odors of your compost bin and other stanky items around your home!
• Peppermint Essential Oil - This is probably the most potent oil we use in our products, but it's for good reason. Peppermint essential oil has a ton of uses, including its ability to help numb itchiness, like after a bug bite (ahem, Outdoor Oil). Since it is so potent, it also plays a prominent role in our Stank Spray. 
• Orange Essential Oil - The beautiful aroma of this citrus oil helps to elevate our Stank Spray and is also known for having antibacterial and antiseptic properties. 

About Our Other Botanicals*

• Jojoba Oil - We feature jojoba oil in all of our Blue Bottles because it is a match made in heaven for your skin. Jojoba oil is said to have physical properties that closely resemble natural human serum. We love jojoba oil because it known for being safe for a variety of skin types, including sensitive and acne-pone skin. 
• Argan Oil - We feature argan oil in our Multi Serum because it helps to soften and tone just about any type of skin, and is especially known for hydrating mature skin. 
• Pure Fractionated Coconut Oil - This light carrier oil does not clog pores and is especially useful for diluting potent blends, which is why we feature it in our Outdoor Oil. 
• Neroli Water - Also known as orange blossom water, the beautiful aroma of this hydrosol also brings multiple skin benefits. Neroli is known for helping with skin regeneration, acne, and generally problematic skin, making it a no-brainer choice for our Anytime Toner alongside geranium and witch hazel. 
• Witch Hazel - This hydrolat is used in all of our sprays, helping to dilute the essential oils into distilled water. It also acts as an astringent, so we add a bit more of this ingredient to our Anytime Toner to help purify and tone the skin.
